A QUICK GUIDE
How to use qr code generator
Encode a short piece of text or a URL as a black-and-white QR code, directly in your browser. Download a PNG with a white border and crisp square modules. The tool does not open, shorten or change the content you enter.
- Enter text or paste a complete URL, up to 1000 UTF-8 bytes.
- Select Generate QR code and check the preview and image dimensions.
- Download the PNG, then test it with the scanner your audience will use.
Share a page with a query string
Entering https://www.dailytoolpad.com/?source=poster&topic=images preserves the complete link, including its query string. A scanner reads that same text; this website does not redirect or track scans.
Good to know
- The 1000-byte limit counts UTF-8 bytes, not displayed characters. Emoji and many non-English characters use multiple bytes.
- Codes use medium error correction, an opaque white border of four modules, and eight pixels per module. Larger inputs produce larger images.
- Content is encoded as entered, including surrounding spaces and line breaks. Some older scanners may interpret non-ASCII text differently; test the downloaded code on your intended devices.
Common questions
Will my QR code expire?
The PNG contains the text itself and has no expiry or hosted redirect. A linked destination can still change or stop working independently of the QR image.
Can I add a logo or scan an existing code?
This version generates fixed black-and-white PNG images. It does not add logos, customize colors, scan codes or manage dynamic destinations.
