A QUICK GUIDE
How to use image converter
Create a real image in a different format, rather than just changing the filename. Compare the exported preview and download a file with the matching extension.
- Choose a supported image.
- Select JPG, PNG or WebP. Check the background notice when converting to JPG.
- Convert the image and download the result.
A transparent logo for a document
Use PNG if the logo needs a transparent background. If the document requires JPG, the transparent areas become white. WebP can retain transparency when your browser supports exporting it.
Good to know
- JPG is useful for photographs, while PNG preserves transparency and can suit graphics with sharp edges. WebP supports transparency and lossy encoding.
- Exporting to PNG does not restore detail previously lost in a JPG.
- Re-encoding can change or remove metadata. This tool is not a metadata preservation or redaction service.
Common questions
Will conversion keep the original dimensions?
The converter keeps the decoded image dimensions. Use Image Resizer if you want a different width or height.
Can I convert HEIC or animated images?
This version accepts static JPG, PNG and WebP images. HEIC, RAW files and animated PNG or WebP are outside its supported formats.
